The Fred search options are multiple. You can search on metadata fields, on text, on date range, on format... In order to find a file easily, you can sort the results in columns, filter on column values, group on a metadata, create a customized set of columns, choose to search in a part of the repository only. In the search result you can continue handling the documents or jump to the folder in which the file is located.
